What should you know about the Imitrex therapeutic effects?

Anti-migraine medicine. Interacts with 5-HT1-receptors, mainly in the brain blood vessels. Constricts the dilated vessel during the migraine attack and thereby stops the attack. • occlusive peripheral vascular disease
• temporal cerebral circulation disorders (including history)
• severe liver and / or kidney dysfunction
• with caution: epilepsy, controlled hypertension, pregnancy, breastfeeding, adolescent and elderly patients

Which undesirable side effects may be caused by the drug?

The Imitrex adverse effects include:

• cardiovascular system and blood (hematopoiesis, hemostasis): blood pressure decrease, a temporary increase in blood pressure (observed shortly after intake), bradycardia, tachycardia (including ventricular), palpitations
• gastrointestinal tract: nausea, vomiting, dysphagia, abdominal discomfort
• nervous system and sensory organs: dizziness, weakness and / or fatigue,somnolence, convulsive seizures
• hypersensitivity reactions: skin rash, urticaria, pruritus, erythema
• other: pain, tingling, hot flash, myalgia
